Southern Track Days presents the September Fall Classic - Sat. 4th - Sun 5th at JGP

    The dates are ...

Well everyone, there has been another development in the FRS drama that has been going on lately...

Back in December (I think it was December, hell time flies) we were at Jennings and had booked/reserved a weekend for FRS. Well as the event started to approach rather quickly we received a phone call that FRS hadn't paid their bill (which required a payment - about $4,000.00) and now this payment was PAST DUE.

Considering we were the ones that had reserved the date (in trying to help them out) our name and reputation was now on the line.

Well since last week, FRS has decided to go ahead and cancel their event.

In an effort to make things right between gottrack.net and JGP we have decided to take the event. We also want to show our riders that we wouldn't do this to our riders. While we are no longer affiliated with FRS we feel we needed to do this to make sure you all understand that we are there for you.

So, gottrack.net will be hosting a trackday @ JGP Saturday June 5th and Sunday June 6th.

This will be a typical GT event and will run as usual. Mock races will be held on Sunday, giveaway items on Saturday. Tech will start Friday night and continue on Saturday morning. Group dinners, track walk, etc... will occur as usual.

We know this is very short notice, this will be a tough event for us to fill but we hope that everyone will come out and have a great time!

Registration will be up on the website this weekend (gottrack.net/register)

Pricing details, lunch details, photography etc... will all be up shortly.

    Thank you for your support!

And to Eric B. who won the free trackday, if you can make it this time you got a free day, don't forget

    Thanks again
    Nick

Some people have been asking about FRS, coming from the fact they haven't heard much about them from us lately. So a little update on our situation and some information, to allow you to make your own judgement.

I am sad to say that due to a number of reasons (personal concerns, safety concerns, process of implementation, communication, etc... which have come up recently - prior to their first event) we feel that it wasn't going in the direction that we thought it would or in the direction that we wanted both for gottrack.net, FRS or our riders. Because of this we have decided to eliminate our involvement with this series.

In the defense of the series, I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to this stuff and some of these things are simply not meeting the requirments I need them to meet for me to continue to fully support this.

I know this might upset some people or even change your view of me, considering I had been pushing this so hard for so long. But I have to do what I feel it right for us and our riders.

FRS also apparently plans to host their own track days, I guess them gaining access to our riders (you all reading this) at our PBIR event allowed that to happen. Not sure if that was just the plan all along or not but it is what it is.

So for your information, we (gottrack.net or our instructors and/or control riders) will not be attending any FRS events. Now, our instructor and control riders are of course able to attend any event they wish, but it just wouldn't be with gottrack.net.

We feel that the riders have allowed us to start gottrack.net and host events because of our standards and our standards simply have to remain high to provide the best experience for you the riders.

Now, back to the good news! The upcoming FSB (www.floridasportbikers.com) event is coming up fast and they are about to close registration, so if you want is better sign up FAST! We will see you there! If you are in South Florida and are heading up let us know. We are leaving early Friday morning.

Thanks guys for all of your support, you the riders make the organizer what they are!

We would like to take a moment to thank everyone who participated in this event! We had a great turnout, especially considering we had only planned the event with about 4 weeks notice. As always we had a truly awesome group of riders! This event was sponsored by FRSracing.net (the new Florida Road Racing Series), who provided us with race control, corner workers and tech inspections! Thanks to the FRS team (Steve Pope, Kelly Pope, Carl Munion and all the corner works!)!!

In addition to the riders, we have a great staff for this event. This included some of our typical staff but also some new staff to gottrack.net.

Some of the staff (sorry to those I miss) are:
Our normal CR's: Jeff Ebner, Vaughn Ali, Sean Dwyer, Les Crush and Matt Mitchell.

Then we were honored to have some new additions to our staff from http://www.southerntrackdays.com/www...portbikers.com included: Luis Herran and Gary Hamilton providing instruction and lets not forget Gail, Didi and Kat!!!

We heard great things from the riders about everyone involved.

Now to the supporters, we would like to extend a huge thank you to:
Monkeyworks Cycle (from Daytona Beach - Eric Komrowski)
Crush Leathers (from WPB - Les)
    Bikepass.net (with Bridgestone - German)

They provided free swag as giveaway items that were given away during some downtime in the afternoon. We always appreciate FREE stuff!

Please stay tuned for the next gottrack.net appearances. The upcoming events will be added to the calendar found at: www.gottrack.net/calendar

    Some of these events include:
PBIR Test and Tune April 9th (Friday night 5PM-10PM
PBIR Trackday (hosted by PBIR - Staff by gottrack.net) May 2nd (Sunday all day)

And the Spring feature May 8th and 9th at JenningsGP with the FSB crew. Sign up at www.southerntrackdays.com

The FSB crew (Gail, Didi and Kat) were taking pictures throughout the event and Luis H. was recording video. Check out these pictures and video at www.floridasportbikers.com
